|
|
Hi i am a TEFL certified language instructor with three years experience teaching at English centers and language schools in Spain, China, Thailand, and Malaysia, now I want to come to Istanbul. I have a Canadian passport, and lots of Business and Conversation English experience, especially 1 on 1, where I can offer the most help to my students.
I am used to going to people homes, and offices prearranged by an intermediary. Using this approach, I average about 15-20euros/hour, since most of the clients are private, and/or companies. I find about 5 or 6 schools/intermediaries in every city I go, and each school hands me about 3-6 hours a week, with one or more clients. At the end of the month I usually make about 700-1000euro.
Can I do this in Istanbul?
What's the hourly pay for language centers/mills? Or for business English to companies?
Also, if anyone know where I can find a list of language centers, and English schools in the greater Istanbul area, please let me know. If they have email addresses, that would be great
thanks |

| Yes people do hire private tutors for their homes in Istanbul. I think you could earn a comparable rate. Go to the Turkish Ministry of Education page to find a list of all the English language schools in Istanbul. |

| It helps a lot, thanks. But do you know if this is an exhaustive list of private language centers/mills in Istanbul? Can more be added? |
