I was harping in a previous thread that I wanted actual experiences, so I will post mine:
I was able to get a re entry permit at the airport. The immigration officer spoke English very well, he ask me why I did not get it at the regional office. It was a reasonable conversation and I showed him my class schedule for the semester and my daily schedule of classes to show I was teaching everyday during business hours. He seemed satisfied fairly quickly (maybe a bit overwhelmed that I was speaking quickly and coming at him with so much information) and begin issuing the permit. I had to go into the main airport terminal to buy a duty stamp.
The immigration line and office did not seem busy at the time I was there and the whole process took about 25 minutes (most of the time spent going out to buy the duty stamp). |
