Any ideas regarding ESL teachers' pay range in Lithuania under current economic conditions? |

Contact Ele in Vilnius. She posts on this site under the name 'kootsvela' but be warned, she often said EFL teachers there were badly paid even before the economic recession and the Baltic States have been particularly badly affected,Latvia being apparently the worst.
But if you have relatives or family roots and want to go for that reason, it's a very interesting place with lots of history and some lovely forests.
Unfortunately a large number of younger people have gone to work abroad since they joined the E.U. because of the economic situation. |

Lithuania postings in this forum belong in and are found in the General Europe branch, not this one.
If you think this is nit picking, ask a Lithuanian. |

I am sure the Lithuanians would be very happy if they saw we have jobs there classified 'under the Russians'!!!-especially Ele..she's a real 'firebrand' about her countries independence but if you read their history you cannot help agreeing with her! |

My, was I THAT bad?
Getting paid would be great but there's a tough issue before that- getting hired, that is. And for what I see around, the year 2010 is going to be a nightmare. Probably I'll leave independence to itself and start packing my things. |
