Gonna need some more details here, as it simply isn't my experience. Which courses are you comparing to which courses?
I'm a trainer on an SIT TESOL course in Quito Ecuador, which costs $1500.
The same course in the US looks like $2000 or more most places I know.
Remember, though- I'm not qualified through an Ecuadorian university, but rather American and British ones. What it cost me to get qualified isn't different than the teacher trainers on the course in the US.
