Aside from the Himalaya's, what provinces are the best mountain ranges to be found in China? I have a bit of a sweet tooth for mountain climbing, and in searching for jobs in China, I would like to be close to some good peaks.

thanx

Not that you won't get an answer in here... Wink

But it might be useful for you to post your question in the "China (Off Topic)" section of the board as well.

Note to put you down or anything, but isn't this the kind of information you might find in an atlas? Rolling Eyes

Sichuan is probably your best bet; the whole province is mountainous, and every mountain is near some heavily-populated place.

In the northeast the CHangbaishan mountains straddling the Manchurian/Korean border are an ideal hiking destination (or skiing in winter).

Yunnan has towering mountains too.

If skiing and snowboarding are your thing, you should check out Yabuli Ski Resort. It is in Shangzhi City near Harbin. I went up there last year with 5 other teachers and we all had a blast, and it was pretty economical to boot!. (About 400 Yuan each for 3 nights accomadation in a chalet + rentals + lift tickets + food) Thats a great deal.

Like Lajzar I would have thought there are more appropriate reference tools than a question here. An atlas ?

You might also like to brush up your knowledge of how we use the apostrophe in English.

"Himalaya's"

From an English teacher ?

oiboy,

I'm not in China but still intrigued. I accept I'd have to wear mens' ski boots and not womens' but would size 43 hire boots be available?

A world tour of obscure ski resorts sounds quite fun!

I do know they have mens and womans ski boots. If you are wondering the sizes call the resort not me. How do I know? I do not live at the resort or even near it.
