Hi all,
are you sympathetic, kind and thoughtful? According to this article you are not EFL/ESL management material. At last, there is some firm, evidenced- based research into the relationship between personality type and job choice.
Note also the following findings:
- the more 'open to experience' a man was the more likely they would choose business or education as a job
- the more 'agreeable' men and women rated themselves the less likely they were managers or business professionals
- For women 'extroversion' was associated with women becoming managers.
Have a look at:

Creep is too strong a word to describe most EFL managers. Opportunistic, unprincipled, ambitious, flexible and possessing the gift of the gab are typical characteristics of such individuals. There are always exceptions such as the intellectual, anti-social types as well. I can't say I have been seriously hard done by any (yet). It is not a job for everyone and I do not envy them due to the stress they get. |
