Hello!
I am newly CELTA certified and hope to land a teaching job in Eastern Europe (preferable Prague/Moscow, but any larger city would be wonderful). I had hoped to jump right into the job-hunt, but due to un-forseen circumstances I will need to head back to the States until late Dec./early Jan, at which point I'll be looking for employment.
I have two years experience volunteering as an English teacher, and tutored German in college (though my degree is in Env. Science).
Would landing a job be even semi-realistic for someone in my position? I'm not picky and am happy to take on young learners. What are prospects for teachers hunting for the first real jobs during the winter months?
Any advice would be much appreciated - thanks a lot! |

There are typically some openings in January, as some teachers don't return from their holidays, and some companies start new contracts at that time.
Bear in mind that contracts in this region are usually September - June, and you will likely be looking at little/no work in July and August - but that's true regardless of when you start! |
