| I'm keeping track of your experiences, and so far: Some have had 1) exams with blood tests, 2) exams with no blood tests, or 3) no exam. It is helpful to get feedback on your personal experiences. Please keep them coming. Since there's no consistent policy for the country (why isn't there??), I fear that the locality I end up end if I go will spring a surprise on me. That happened to me before in another country when despite my inquiring on the forum and of other teachers at the school, and being told that they'd only test for HIV, they tested for several other things including hep b& c which resulted in me having to leave. Just don't want that to happen again. |
we all do mediacl tests but not to get the visa. It is just a checkup and they check blood and urine and your weight and heigght and your eyesight adn hearing.
The blood test doesn't include Hepatitis or HIV unless you ask for that test (you can ask for lots of extreas like diabetes or somach chekcs and many other kinds if you want to). This is not related to getting visas. NEVER! It is only to check your health. I think they will not ever deport you or fire you for the health check results.
So you can relax! |

| Thanks Cool Teacher for the info. Much appreciated. Also, thanks seklarwia for the explanation. You're right, I don't care if they know about it; I just don't want to get kicked out once it's known. If I know for sure in advance that that's what'll happen, I simply won't go. But fortunately, so far, all the posts have indicated the same basic thing, that is, it shouldn't be a problem in Japan. Thanks for the responses. |

Hey megone,
Did you go to Japan? If so, did you face any problems because of the Hep C?
Also, would you mind telling me which country made you leave because of it?
Thanks!
