Yes, I know it is not ELT related.. but if you have an adult class or student.. maybe you can spend a lesson talking about it.. Twisted Evil

Very funny TeachEnglish,

Is this a conversation you have regularly with your partner? I developed a taste for hot sake, but drink white wine in the summer. Unfortunately I cannot drink on school nights anymore Sad My significant other LOVES beer.

What kind of beer do you drink in Turkey? What do the locals drink?

Thanks, Tillymd

Efes is the Turkish brand.. not bad.. if you like beer. Raki is another drink and the national drink.. I don't like the taste.. kinda smells and tastes like black licorice.. Most other main alcohols are available here. .but if it is not Turkish.. plan to spend a lot of money on it. Stock up in your home country and at the duty free at the airport..

raki is just about the same as ouzo IMO. My friends used to pour a bit of ice water into it and it will magically turn cloudy.

That was funny! Hopefully noone has got to that stage yet. I used to drink a lot of Efes, as far as beer goes it hits the spot after about 5 or 6. I put on a lot of weight though so its Raki everytime, that water and ice makes a cooler drink in the summer and you don't get a sore head the next day!

Turk ickileri okadar iyi degil. Bazi saraplari seviyorum ama kirmizi olacak. Bira icerken bardagi buzlukda dunduriyorum onceden ondan sonra dolapdan soguk bir bira ile bardagi dolduriyorum. Bira kopukleri nerdeyse buz tutmaya basliyor.
