Read on - this isn't just about HE.

The topic hasn't been discussed for a while but I feel it is worth raising again. There are now a large number of Universities which have partnerships with private organisations (e,g. INTO, SGI). In some cases where there was little or no provision it may be useful but in many cases EFL & EAP lecturers are being redeployed on inferior contracts. In some cases it has been fought off (Northumbria, Essex, Oxford Brookes) but in many it has resulted in fellow EFL and EAP teachers earning substantially less and being left on private contracts after working for the university itself. Rumour has it that some partnerships are not working out as had been envisaged but despite this some of the private partners are pressing on and seem to be on a charm offensive.

This is why I had to come and write this. I've just been looking at that 'reliable source of information' - Wikipedia. There is an INTO entry and it left me open mouthed; looks like the INTO support and the anti INTO crowd are having a war but reads like propaganda for INTO.

This isn't just an HE thing but look up and see if your organisation is there. Is the entry accurate? If not, find evidence and tell the truth.

Rant over.
