I am really interested in teaching in another country besides the U.S. I am keeping an open mind and would like to know if anyone has any suggestions. I am looking for a country that isn't too costly ( to travel there/ live there/ etc..) and if at all possible, a company that could help with airfare BEFORE I go there. I would also like a country that has more American food, as I am a very picky eater. Also, a place that doesn't get very cold. I just want to hear people's opinions on where I should work/ live. Thank you. |

What are your qualifications? When you say "teach somewhere other than the US", do you mean that you are already a certified teacher?
What do you consider "American food" (fast food? Availability of peas & carrots in a frozen bag? A baked chicken at a deli?). I know you can find the fast food anywhere (for a price), some places do not have typical American food items in stock at grocery stores. I was able to find every typical North American grocery product in Egypt (except pork) although you may only have one choice of brand (such as ONLY mayo or ONLY Miracle Whip). |

I have a lot of experience working with children. I don't necessarily have a teaching certificate, but I am in college.
About the food, I don't like to eat too much fast food because of the fat content but I like any American food that is plain. Example: I eat my burgers with only ketchup and lettuce.
I thought about some latin american countries, but I'm not really sure who's hiring and where to look. |

Sounds like Latin America is the best option for you with no degree or teaching certificate. You will probably have to check the individual LA forums for the details (I have never been there). I can guarantee one thing though, the flight will not be paid for. Without a degree and certification, paid flights don't exist. Even with those qualifications, it's not so popular! |

This teaching in another country thing: is this something you think you want to do as a career or are you one of those people who presume that you're just going to step into a country, teach for a few months, and leave without having any actual training in being a teacher? |
