Hello all,
can someone enlighten me as to the difference between umowa o dzielo and starting one's own firm? Which is more advantageous (for the teacher of course)...?
Thanks in advance

Umowa o dzieło- you get paid for what you do, no salary, company pays your taxes but not your ZUS.
Your own business activity- you can issue invoices (fakturas), have to pay your own taxes and ZUS, you can have employees working for you to bring in money while you sit at home and drink your tea.
Umowa o dzieło is good if you will only be here for a short time. Having your own company will allow you to charge more for lessons and you don't have to work for a school but rather do your own marketing to companies!
Good Luck either way! |

Owning your own business you should get half price on ZUS for the first two years coming to around 300zł a month. And if you read wprost you get 40,000zł for no particular reason. |

Thanks guys
I have a umowa o dzielo but since I work for one school, my boss pays my ZUS and has now suggested I open my own firm because I cost the school my salary plus 40%. I'm just not convinced that having my own firm is worth the hassle unless I make enough money to pay ZUS etc. which I hear, after the first two years, can reach up to 900 zł (?) |

There are other benefits of having your own business. The thing is, it's best to establish yourself first, get enough connections or make enough money to make it worth your while.
You can write things off - like trips for example, gas, part of your apt. etc etc... so in a way it's a great bonus, but only if you are serious about conducting business. |

You'll just have to by wprost and check it out for yourself It's on the cover on the current issue, I don't buy wprost because they generally make the worst covers ever (see below).

I just bought the issue today and there isn't anything about what you were talking about earlier! The magazine: 200 zł bill and a snake.
Your help will be much appreciated! |

I only based my post on the cover I saw in passing... that the EU is giving people with their own company 40,000zł. You didn't buy the issue with 40,000zł in big letters on the cover?
But there are grants available to people with their own companies, you need to do some serious work to get them though, explain why your company is the best ever etc. It's probably a back issue now so I'll try and find the one I'm talking about at the market tomorrow and find out what they've got to say. |
