This is a question for any South Africans or anyone who knows a South African who is on a business visa. How do you guys get into Bahrain or the other countries nearby Saudi. Can you get visas? How do you get back in to Saudi? I am not sure how this whole thing works!

Am I the only South African to get a job in Saudi? My recruiter did tell me that he had a problem getting South African guys hired and South African people of colour but there must be some South Africans working in Saudi and hopefully one or two reading this forum.

If any of you even have a friend or co-worker that you know was South African and know what they did as far as visa runs go please let me know! Thanks!

How ironic is this post? Not so long ago, 'Mericans left the koh in droves due to the spate of bombings and compound attacks. Then, like a vacuum cleaner, supposedly, the kingdom sucked up a lot of SA workers. Heck! Even the longer-serving SA expats in the U.A.E. were complaining publically about how the newer SA expats, eager to get away from the storied violence and crime in SA were moving enmasse into the country and working for less...therefore bringing down the average of the salary that folk from SA could demand.

Now...silence?

It is wierd that recruiters seem happy to hire South African woman but not South African men... or so I have heard!

Right now the Americans with BA and little experience are flooding Korea and accepting lower salaries than I was paid 3 years ago. Which has resulted in my husband and I looking for work in Saudi but now it seems there are teachers willing to work 36-40 hours a week for $2000 or maybe $2400 in Saudi Arabia!!!

NCTBA, South Africa is much cheaper than America or Canada in some areas so South Africans can afford to get paid less... It is unfortunate but true!
