Yeah sure if that's the case then I don't have any problem with that. They didn't say anything like that in particulair though. I think they're probably just concerned with hiring a teacher that decides to leave in the middle of the semester because of visa problems.

I'm actually not looking forward to having to get a new tourist visa every ninety days either. I think this problem can be solved by getting a residence permit, but what does one have to do to get one of those?

Hey! Good luck! Well... if you're a university graduate and have any sort of teaching certificate, they can get you a residence and work permit without any problem... if they say they "can't"/"don't want to" pay for it and you're dying to teach in Eskisehir you can offer to pay for it yourself I guess around 600 hundred dollars will do the job, but don't say it straight away, you have to hear what they have to say, but if you have to travel every 90 days it'll cost them or you, a lot of money as well... the only reason they would have to refuse to do your paperwork (if you have the required qualifications) is if they can hire foreigners who already live in Turkey and are, maybe, Turkish citizens... but how many are there in Eskisehir, anyway? I don't know... let us know Smile)

Hi everybody,

A quick update on my part. I've been in Eskisehir for about a week now talking with different schools. Reactions are positive and I've pretty much got the luxury of choosing any school that I visited.

Strangely enough answers regarding a residence permit vary greatly. Some schools say they can get me one in a heartbeat while other state that it's absolutely not possible. I even got one advice to register as a refugee in Turkey under the laws of the United Nations to be able to stay without having to renew my visa every 90 days.. "cok comic ya" seems appropriate here if remember correctly Smile

Anyway, I'll keep you guys posted and thanks again for the advice!
