Hi everyone
I am joing UOH for the academic year of 09-10. I am hoping to get the visa stamped by next 3-4 days. Now I am just wondering if people already working or going to work this year can introduce theirselves on here or through PM.
I break the ice: I am asian and have been studying in UK for last five years (BSc and MSc). I will be teaching at the Computing College. Looking forward to join as this will be my first professional job after graduation.
Anyone else here going to be my collegues at UOH, please raise your hands...... |

Dear Railway3,
"or through PM."
I'm afraid you won't be able to end/receive PMs until you have 5 posts.
Regards,
John |

Hey Railway!
Congrats on the job right after graduating! Did they not require work/teaching experience? I have a technical background also with postgrad from England and as a female, I would think there is a shortage of qualified female instructors for female students. Advice would be great!
Thanks.. |

Dear Seeker787
I dont have any direct experience but I have been volunteering for the Student Union as an Education ofiicer and did other volunteering work related too related to the job. Plus I have 3 months industrial experience (student placement). I believe these helped me a lot getting the job without any direct teaching experience although the pay deal is not very high for me. I am satisfied though as it is my first proper job.
They have high demand for women teachers as far I know and also they get less women willing to move their for their conservative culture. So I am sure you will get a job if you try hard. you have already missed this years session but look for january or next year's session. My Interview was in March (for september session), so have a look round and I am sure you will find one. |

Hi Chaudhry
I dont know yet what modules I will be teaching! I only know I will be teaching at the Computing School.
At this moment I am not much concern about research. I have plan doing a Phd but for now I need some money and also a break from study......so not that much bothered at this moment. I think UOH faculties get the similar facilities for research like KFUMP faculties get as UOH was a college of KFUMP in the past.
Are you a direct hire or 3rd party? You also teaching at the computing school? What about your visa? Is it sorted yet? I am just back from London and the Saudi Cultural Attache told me that until they get the letter from UOH, they wont give the supporting letter to get the visa although I was sent (by email) the copy of the visa authorisation and a letter issued to them! What about yours? |

I am a direct hire and yes i shall be teaching at the computing school i suppose. My visa processing is taking longer than usual but yeah been waiting for a little while now ... slowly but surely its moving ahead. What about yours? Yeah the attache's office has to recieve your documents and they shall give you a call as soon as they do so stay put.
See you in Hail.

Hi,
It happened to my husband .He received the authorisation by e mail but the cultural bureau did not receive it on time. We contacted the university, they told us that they sent it through express post and gave us the tracking number. the status of the package was ARRIVED ON TIME but they did not receive it, so they considered it as LOST and issued us visas using the copy e mailed to my husband. |

Hi Omm Juman
Thank you for the information. But if the officals of the university is now on holiday I think it is not even possible to get the tracking number. I will contact the Cultural Attache on Monday anyway and see what they says. |

I reckon you take it easy mate (Railway3) the cultural attache should contact you by themselves atmost leave your phone number with them and spend your time the best way you can. |
