hi all
I'm in South Korea right now where something like 45 schools have closed or delayed opening after the summer as a result of swine flu. I personally think the Koreans are pretty neurotic about all of this but was just wondering if anything similar has happened or is happening in Japan? |

In Kansai (so Kyoto, Osaka and Kobe) schools closed for a week or so earlier this year. Now, they don't seem to care about it.
I know people who were hourly (or daily) dispatch ALTs and when the schools closed, they didn't get paid. I'm an hourly teacher and my school made me make up most of the missed classes (one class was special and couldn't be made up). |

they are closed because of the flu. in one of my students class 8 of the students has the flu. they are ordered to stay home and are not allowed to go out. He came to english class but went straight home. they are not allowed to be playing outside. thats the student who has no class all week.
the other students who have no school have the same orders with less students with the flu and only 3 days off school |
