What is the best way from Seoul to Bangkok?

Plane tickets look like they are about 400 bucks.

I'm open to some kind of train/boat scenario but I havent seen anything.

Did everyone just take a plane to BKK?

Flying one way to Bangkok and then getting another ticket back while in Thailand may be a good way to go. I know it cost me about 600 USD round-trip for an Incheon-BKK-Incheon ticket about 18 months ago. I bought this ticket in Korea through (now defunct) Xanadu.

But I also know I just bought a ticket back to San Francisco, USA from a little place in Bangkok for about 17,000 baht (around 520 bucks). Surely this place can hook you up with an Incheon ticket from here for around 250 USD at most. PM me for the name and number of this place.

I flew from Seoul to BKK (round trip) at the end of August for KRW 477,000. I'm going again on 30 September and the round trip ticket was KRW 550,000. It's higher now because of Korean Chuseok holiday. I bought the ticket thru a travel agent. Check out Cathay....sometimes they have great fares.

wow, prices have really come down. Last Summer I paid 720,000 Won round trip.

RCD! "I know a plane doesnt go directly, I wasnt sure if there are any plane alternatives."

What do you mean. There are several direct flights that fly straight from Seoul to BKK.

I second using Xanadu. There is another one in Itaewon, but I forget their name. They were very good also.

Did Xanadu go belly up? I know when I tried to book a flight in March, I couldn't reach their site. No matter, though. I still got a good deal at one of those little places in the basement of the airport. There are like four travel agencies near where you get off the travelway (which you get on at the end of the train line). These are good to use if you need to get out in a flash, such as when you're doing a runner.
