What does 29.5 hours mean exactly

The 2 main plans are called shakai hoken and kokumin kenko hoken.

The former is a combination of health insurance and pension. The latter is only health insurance (there is a separate pension).

If you have had neither of these before you get kokumin, you have to make backpayments. If you have had neither of these before you get shakai hoken, you (probably) don't have to make backpayments.

Backpayments can be as much as up to 2 years' worth.

Twice as much? Hardly. Twice as much per total time period, maybe, but you're going to have to prove that, too. Are you saying managers get the same low pay as teachers?
It sounds very much like Angelfish is working/has worked for GEOS. I'd add that what he says is mirrored in my experience with them - the managers do incredibly long hours and put up with crap from the regional manager on a daily basis, often more if the school isn't performing to the unrealistic targets head office set.

Managers' basic salaries are crap - I remember being shocked at how little my manager earned, but they can make a lot of extra money if the school achieves its monthly sales targets - they can earn more than the teacher that way, but this is often unobtainable if the school is not in a good location.
