Dear Linda,

If it's a "World Heritage Site," there are quite a number to choose from:

even when you eliminate the national parks, forest reserves, buildings. etc.

There are two in New Mexico' Pueblo de Taos (which is still inhabited)

and Chaco Canyon (which isn't)

Regards,
John

Dear John and VS

There is only one, Toledo, the capital of the Empire under Phillip II and his son Charles V of Germany as well, and at one time, larger that the British one.

There is also another one in Ohio, USA and some others in Latin America but this entire city is a monument, hence World Heritage with gothic cathedral, synagoges and mosques.

Dear Linda467,
Umm, how about Vatican City?

http://www.thesalmons.org/lynn/wh-vatican.html

Or Venice:

Or Ferrara:

To name a few other cities.

Regards,
John

Yes, but John... they don't fit the part of her definition of the centuries of the three religions of the book residing in peace.

So... I was right... it was a city in Spain. Cool
