Hello everyone...

I have an upcoming interview with ECC, and I was wondering if anyone who has worked for them had an opinion about their housing option. I noted that they do not guarantee a private apartment. Since I would prefer this, I wonder if it's worth going on my own to get a place...such as a Leopalace.

Any opinions?

Thanks

If you're trying for the Kanto region (Tokyo and surrounding areas), don't count on getting an apartment at all. Most of us ended up in guest houses. ECC did have a contract with a real estate company which provided shared apartments, but that company has gone under.

Overall, I'm pretty happy with ECC, though. So if you can deal with the housing on your own, ECC might not be a bad choice for you. If you end up in the Kanto region, plan on living in a guest house for 3-5 months until you can save enough money and sort things out to get an apartment on your own (or with roommates).

I work in Kansai, so the ECC housing maybe a bit different there. I did have a private place and it was fine. You have to stay there for a few months but then you can do what you like - ECC doesn't place any restrictions on that. I stayed for in my ECC housing for about a year and bit. It was good overall.
