| I've worked in Chiang Mai for 3 years, then went to Seoul and will finish up next June. I have a BA and CELTA and 9 years experience. My girlfriend lives in Kanchanaburi and I'd like to settle there. Anyone know of any schools language schools there? I've seen a few ads for EF (or something like that) but their ad limits the age to 50, and I'm 58. Are there any others? I'd prefer not to work in a government school. |

| If you dont want a government school, you will have a hard time in Kanchanaburi as there are few language schools. Try looking at Nakhon Pathom as there should be work at a Uni/Rajabat or language school there with all the Unis there. Its only about 45 min to Kanchanaburi. |

| There is a rajabhat in Kan as well as numerous government schools and one or two private ones. There is also at least one language school in town. There is a small expat teaching community there and competition for the good jobs is tight but you might be lucky. As mentioned, Nakhon Pathom could be an alternative -- the rajabhat there will probably be always looking for farangs and there are a couple of unis too. There are private schools in Ban Pong (half way between Kan and Nakhon Pathom) which hire farangs - sometimes the money can be good. And around the countryside you can sometimes pick up work although conditions and pay vary greatly. |
