Looking to teach ESL in Japan, but there are a zillion web sites...Any suggestions for where to begin - reputable schools. Ideally 6 month commitment. TEFL certified, BA, etc.
Thanks for info,
Lillet
Oh, please! That is the most general of questions! Look at the FAQ stickies and do research. In today's flooded market, nobody is going to give you their trade secrets. The sites are out there. Yes, there are many, but that's both good and bad (bad because many overlap postings).

If you want more specific advice, tell us more (like a preference for job type, location, etc.). Only a 6-month commitment? That has been discussed endlessly here. Unless you can get on with Westgate Corporation, or have a working holiday visa, it's going to be almost impossible.

And it is bad form to interrupt and hijack a thread like this one. Start your own (but be prepared for more responses like mine).

Lillet, way to show maturity and thought. Stickies are at the top of the board for a reason--so you'll see them and will take the time to look through them before hijacking somebody's thread to ask basic FAQs.

I answered your question. That's "nothing"?

As for getting a life (a statement which infringes on my own rights to post, I'll have you know), I've been here over a decade and have actually made more than that number of posts. You weren't here when the board format was totally different, and post counts were reset when the new format came into being. A "life"? I'll let others tell you just how helpful I've been in the last decade.

Now, if a moderator would only move this section of the thread that has gone off-topic...
