Dear Cuffs,

Yikes - how low can they go? That's rhetorical, but I'll bet we find out. Is there a minimum wage in Saudi? Again rhetorical - I know there isn't.

Regards,
John

John,

I refer to the hilarious Freudian slip (a term which, I've just discovered, is synonymous with the marvellous word 'parapraxis').

Is that for a school or a university?

Regardless, tens of thousands of teachers earn between SR. 2,500 and SR. 5,000 a month.

What that ad is offering is well above what most teachers in Saudi get.

If a Saudi/Arab/Asian teaching at a Saudi/international school got $1,700 per month, he would think himself a prince. And $2,400 would make him the king.

Nice appropriate typo BTW Laughing

Mr T,

This particular parapraxial intervention was the recruiter's - not my own - hence my hilarity.

Wake up, chaps.

I don't know what scale Saudi teachers are on, but the pay scales are fixed in government schools and I would presume Saudi teachers would be paid Grade 8 or 9, which would be considerably higher than the salaries Trapezius is suggesting, which sound much more like what unscrupulous private school owners try and offer those not fully qualified.
