Ah, the indefatigable, unrelenting, irrepressible theorist! I didn't know that a feline friend in arabic garb is prowling these pages.
The material world is not organised. Actually it is in chaos. But there is order in chaos, too. God(?) does play dice. And plays intelligently, too. Every snowflake has its own design, as every one of us do. To assume that we are here by design(each one of us, including that poor fly you swatted just now) and that we speak and act as destined is to assume that we are mere pawns in someone's hands. I wouldn't think so.
So no matter what is in your mind what matters is what matter does to your mind. What I said just now is materially immaterial, ok, Doc?
Regards,

Dear WMTN,
". . . . that we speak and act as destined is to assume that we are mere pawns in someone's hands. I wouldn't think so."
Ah, the predestination conundrum surfaces. If God knows all (including all our thoughts and actions yet to be) then does not that very knowing negate the concept of free will?
The fallacy here, I'd say, lies in the fact that while we are enmeshed in time, like flies in amber, God is outside of time in eternity. And while the concept of being outside of time is as impossible for us to grasp as living in three dimensions would be to a two-dimensional creature, perhaps we can gain an inkling by saying that there is no past and no future, only a never-ending present.
Regards,
John |

Depends... I'd say yes. Have you ever worn one? (sorry JS... shouldn't mention "Depends")
Amusing thread (loved "divorce before des cartes")
Now... what was the topic of this thread before JS's poor prostate got divorced? (may you recover quickly with none of those pesky side effects!!)

VS,
No, didn't have to. The boobs never grew up. Now with years rolling by, there's some gynaecomastia. Will certainly get back to you for advice on cup size, etc if need be |

I may not be your best source considering I stopped wearing the uncomfortable things in the late 60s. And yes... it is freedom...
Has this been an informative thread or what?

VS,
Do you mean Dave is used to you or tired of you? As for me I myself am angry with myself so it doesn't really matter what Dave thinks. Render unto Caesar what is Caesar's and unto God what is God's.
I'll have to find someone else if my gynaecomastia gets worse.
Regards.

Dear JS,
Do you have anything on those women who didn't have *beep*/or cut them off / from whom the expression 'amazon' is supposed to have originated? Happy lot, no suckling, no breast cancer, and absolutely no one groping around?

Dear WMTN,
" . . . those women who didn't have *beep*/or cut them off / . . ."
Not "them" - just it: the right breast to allow them to wield weaponry more freely (of course, I suppose it'd have to be the left breast in the case of left-handed Amazons.)

Dear John,
And thanks for letting me get that off my chest.

Dear JS,
I didn't know that about the right br. I thought they did that to look/feel/act masculine. Must have been a terrible exercise, without anaethesia and all that. I must read Davidson to find out what impact such excisions have on the female psyche.
Regards.
