I am planning to go to Israel for a vacation next summer and would like to spend a week volunteering if possible. I am a teacher in Canada and love to work with kids. However I can only commit approximately one week. Do you think it would be possible to arrange something or who should I get in touch with?

There should be plenty of opportinities to volunteer...my problem is I'd like a full-time paying job which seems to be impossible to find as there are already so many Israeli native speakers from the US, Britain, Australia, South Africa etc.
I suggest you contact the Israeli consulate in Toronto or Montreal...they should be able to help you. I actually met a Canadian guy who taught Russian immigrants in Tel Aviv...he loved it and the outfit paid for his room and board...unfortuanately I need a little more than that....and remember Israel is pretty expensive. |
