I have been in contact with a few and so far they have been very helpful, but I am very wary of them due to all the horror stories I have read. The two that I have dealt with are Dewey Recruitment Agency and Asian Consultants. Anyone have any feedback on either? Thanks! |

I have gotten two jobs through Asian Consultants.
With them it does not matter. Everything is negotiated with the school. PM me if you need more information. |

Just make sure you sign your contract ONLY with the school. Never the recruiter. |

Has anyone had any experience with Teach Away? I am a certified teaching hoping to find a public school position for 2010-2011. |

Be careful with the public school jobs. They want to give you summer off without any pay. Why would a certified teacher want to agree to that? |

Thank you for that clarification.
From some of the recruiters' web sites, I had wondered if that might be the case. This might work for me in the sense that I would welcome a block of time to study Mandarin full-time, but I would wonder about the consequences for the ARC and health insurance.... |

There are no consequences for the ARC. How can you be teaching when school is not in session? |

Asian Consultants have been very good, it's always good to hear feedback though. |
