you'd make more money at a summer camp - room and board paid for
literally 1,000s of them
6-10 week gig

Summer camps are an American tradition. Parents used to send their kids to a 'cabin in the woods by the lake' summer camps as part of summer vacation.
Typical times were 4 weeks and with 2 sessions this meant summer camps would be going on all summer.
Activities included crafts, sports, etc with nightly singalongs by the fire. Campers were supervised by camp counsellors - usually American teenagers who had been to that camp before while management of the camp were usually teachers on their summer break.
Not the scene for ESL teachers or foreigner teachers for sure but times are a changing.
Not your typical ESL gig but provides room and board for 8 weeks and some money
