Okay, so I'm an Australian returning to Japan to work in April 2010, but I want to get over there a few months early to catch up with friends, etc. I read on some immigration site that Australians can get a 90-day tourist visa on arrival, so I'm just wondering if I'll have to leave the country and return prior to starting on my working visa, or if there are any other possible complications I should be aware of.
I'm sure this has already been covered, but the search function doesn't seem to work for me. Anyway, thanks for any help.

You don't have to leave the country to finalize visa processing anymore.
Your biggest complication is in finding work, period. Pretty flooded over here now. Why not exercise your working holiday visa instead and find work without the need for a sponsor for 18 months? |

I've got a job lined up, and yeah, it was pretty hard to find - a few rejections before landing this particular one.
Cheers for the help. |
