Does any member of this forum have any experience working with or information, advice about Web International? That is, resources, relative pay, perks or otherwise.

Any posts/comments would be appreciated.

I haven't worked for them, but I got the impression they were one of the better mills. Better pay and better set up than EF or Mom and Pop shops.

Conditions probably vary from location to location though - it might help to focus on the city you are interested in.

Thanks Laurence. I was considering applying for positions either in Shenzhen or Dalian.

There were rumors floating around Shenzhen a while back about Web International getting raided by the cops and a few teachers, who were working on "L" visas, were in a whole lot of trouble. They were full time teachers from what I heard...anyway, it might be true or it might not, but if you do sign on with them make sure that they get you a proper work visa / residence permit issued in Shenzhen (if it's issued outside of Shenzhen you're still working illegally according to the local Police office).

I was working for Web a week ago until I quit. They are not legal in Shenzhen; basically they have no license to hire foreign teachers. It's true the cops raided the school 6 months ago, but luckily most of the teachers were just fined and warned not to work for them. The school paid the fine for the teachers, one teacher was deported. An American from what I was told.
