Seriously, I think I have met you (or probably should.)
I should hit the bar there after Easter. |

Fred, I doubt we've met unless we were on the same EPIK orientation...hence my point above. Which orientation were you on? I think there were 4 or 5 that summer (97). I touched down in Korea for mine on June 13th, a day forever etched on my memory as I ended up taking the longest and most expensive taxi journey of my life. BTW, I'm outta here on Sunday....a week in Bali, so I won't be frequenting the Lamma bars over easter. Manana amigo. |

Bali....Good choice.
I was in Korea for a year before I went up to the orientation. I cannot remember the dates.
But, here is what I do remember: The heat (no airconditioning), the dorms, the continual buffet, the curfue, the white spot Hof, All the newbies hopes and dreams (I was in Korea for a year before the orientation so I could see the BS everyone was talking about) and those college chicks with short leather mini-skirts!
Honestly, the orientation was not all that bad. |

Good luck with the negotiations. My second contract contained three new clauses. The one that springs to mind is that I must follow the laws of Buddhism at all times.
The EMB also regigged our contracts, giving the schools even more power.
Re.: Back pay
You must provide 'chopped' supporting evidence as to why you should be on a higher point. It's a lone battle and I've never been able to resolve my own dispute with the EMB.
The EMB is that pedantic that they wouldn't recognise an 'English Language Arts' degree as being English Language based as they thought it had something to do with Art. This has happened to a few Australians.
What about contacting this organisation for legal advice:
