Is it possible to be on the NET scheme for 10 years or more? Do they sometimes refuse to renew contracts because a teacher is getting too old?
Any comments about long term work in Hong Kong would be appreciated! |

I don't think they would reject anyone for being too old. There are many NETs that are over 60. |

I've been a PNET for nearly 8 years and there are Secondary NETs who have been teaching here for over 10 years.
When you reach 60 you have to continue in the same school and can only get an extension for a year at a time. I am on my 3rd extension and when I got this 3rd one the letter from the EDB seemed to indicate that 3 extensions might be all they would be willing to grant. |
