Besides the international circuit....
You considered Korea and read through the Korean board? Hard not to save 900 bucks a month even without your qualifications. |
I wouldn't recommend this because the lifestyle is very difficult there. It was so difficult in fact that Saudi was definitely a step up for me. |
Korea, China, Turkey, etc, are all what you make of it. And where you're coming from. Having lived in Peru for 5.5 years, Korea would be not a step up, but leaps and bounds |

That's exactly right. It's a shame that people can't always 'make it', but I always find it comical when someone pushes the blame on an entire nation rather than the individual. |

Oh, please! If that was a shot against me and the others who criticize Korea, it missed its mark. I 'made it' in Afghanistan and Saudi. Korea has its own unique problems both culturally and in the work environment. I will continue to publicize the difficulties there until it drastically changes. I certainly won't pretend it's like adapting to any other country. Let's see which of our views nature girl leans toward after a year there.

I'm not criticising you, Sadebugo. On the contrary, I appreciate your willingness to share your experiences, for others to learn what they can from them.
I know you really didn't enjoy your time in Korea- I enjoyed mine, though. So much that I'm returning, and looking forward to it.
I've loved Ecuador, too. I know folks who have hated it here, though.
SOme people aren't compatible with some places. No shame in that- but it's not a good idea to overlook the fact that some people are.
Ecuador was hell for some people I know, and has been wonderful for me.
Korea was undoubtedly hell for you, and I'm sure there are people it's been wonderful for.
Best,
Justin |

It wasn't, but your persecution complex is amusing.
And hasn't Naturegirl already worked in Korea and is now returning? I think I remember some posts from her about that.... |

Been two years since I got back, I have been in Peru since then. I leave Peru in 14 days, then about a month in the US, then back to Korea. I'm excited. This time I'll be dragging my husband with me.
But, like I said, different people like different things. Some people hate X country while others like it.
Key is to find a place that you like. |
