From eslemployment's esl-jobs-forum: http://www.esl-jobs-forum.com/viewtopic.php?p=7598
(Extract) "DO NOT WORK FOR THIS COMPANY!!! The director is a deplorable human being. He didn't pay me for two months for one reason or another, and then when he did pay me, he shorted me 300!! The entire operation is unprofessional and unorganized. I am also not the only teacher he's ever knocked. Just this summer I know he did not pay two other teachers for their work!! So, if you like your money, you value your work, and you like your mental health, STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!! The director is nothing but a dirty Scouser!!!!"
On their website, www.nteschool.com , where I could not find any contact names, they claim to place English teachers in schools throughout Slovakia - their English In Action program.
In December I responded to an advert on eslbase from EIA which turned out to be NTE School, and received a job-offer from David Schofield, which I thought rather unnattractive. |

I see you have some kind of problem with a school you have never encountered face to face, its kind of sad. Their website has a contacts page on which all contacts are laid out, and they are quite clear in how the English in Action program is run, I worked in it, it was very good. As for the post you 'found,' I know (believe) it was by a 'lady' called Maria, if I am wrong show me, but she was employed to work in summer camps, in which the payment in full for July and August was made in August - everyone knew this long in advance - me included, and before the final payment we all took many advances. Its funny how she describes the boss we had as deplorable, yet she threatened the life of his child, but I guess its easier to be a disgruntled employee than employer. N.T.E. School isn't perfect, David Schofield isn't perfect but he is a good guy - a teacher like us who happens to manage a school - he always defends and sticks up for his teachers, the whole organisation is in my opinion, honest and loyal. |

Should you or anyone doubt me, I think this page will lead to contact details: http://www.nteschool.com/?mod=o-firme--kontakty
And I KNOW that you haven't been in close communication about working with them, it kind of makes me laugh how people spend too much time slagging off people they know nothing about. I don't work for them anymore, I finished a second contract and left, and I am happy with my new job, but working for them was great, I was given everything I was promised and more, if you experienced and didn't like it then fine, but if you're here because you are bored, its very sad. |

I haven't slagged anyone off. I'm just sharing the information or opinion that I could find, and seeking better information -like other people on this thread, which you seem to be providing.
I highlighted someone else's experience/rant/whatever, and gave my own connection -an unnattractive job offer. That's clear, plus I am a teeny curious as to why their job wasn't advertised as with NTE, and why NTE no longer has a link on eslbase.
How can you say I have some kind of problem with this school or that I am slagging it off? Why are you so belligerent Benny? |

Why am I so belligerent? (did I spell it correctly?)
Why are you? I am upset as I have worked with the program and it was great - of course not perfect, what job is perfect? I got to see the country, which they promised, I got the salary they promised, I got paid when they promised, and so on. I am also upset because I know (I believe I know but who knows, maybe I will be surprised) who posted that comment you brought to our attention, and she was beyond belief.
I don't like good guys getting grief that they don't deserve that's all, no one here has offered real reasons why they should choose not to work with this program. Even you, haven't offered why the program seemed so derisive, yet you mock it, maybe you can enlighten me. I have been offered what I thought were 'bad,' jobs and didn't get on line griping about them, maybe I should have done so, why apply in the first place?
I am not inside NTE, so I don't know what they are doing now, or why they are seperating the jobs they offer as such, but you claim the job isnt good because of a message you found, I defended them against that, like you, I have the right, no? Didn't you see their contacts page? Have you personal experience of anyone who works there? |
