You can date without any problems for as long as you don't clamor your doings and dealings to the world. The minute someone has it in for you, they can choose to use this to get you in a heap of trouble.

| I think it's important to emphasize that if you're ever in an unfamiliar country, don't EVER go to the local police to report a crime. Go to your embassy. That was this woman's big mistake. |

| What an allah foresaken, grim and uptight part of Planet Tefl the Gulf is. I cannot imagine why anyone, aside from those with a terminal lack of imagination would holiday in Dubai, nor why anyone aside from those in need of topping up their pensions (opps that's me) would want to work there when there is so much more world, culture and civilization to be had. |

That's not the half of it, Ardiles. This City-State must be one of the most hypocritical places on earth...(although my own dear Republic makes a valiant effort.) Virtually every tavern in "The Miracle that is Dubai!!!" doubles as a Chinese brothel of some sort.
With all the supposed diversions the place has to offer..I often find myself sitting in some ersatz English Pub getting s***-faced with a bunch of other loser ex-pats.
Yes, I realize that's entirely my fault....but I can't seem to make the effort to go skiing in a supermarket or whatever they've come up with this week. |

Nothing, but at least they won't arrest you. The reality is that there isn't anything to do but get discrete medical attention and catch the next plane out.

Sad, but true... unfortunately.

| I wasn't implying that if you went to an embassy they would act as your knight in shining armor. They might very well do nothing. But it's a much better idea than putting yourself into a foreign system that you probably have no understanding of. |

I doubt that they would do more than give the same advice that I gave just above.

You have no sympathy for a woman who has been raped? A little harsh I feel. |
I thought 'them' was referring to men who had married Muslim women. |
