Can someone point me to a resource for, or help create a list of the accredited, International Schools in Thailand? (perhaps there is an online resource for them throughout the world?) I"m not quite sure what to look for and merely the term IS is apparently too vague for google to help really. I have two Bachelor's degrees, one in English, and am certified to teach in the US.

Does anyone know how likely I am to get a job at one of these schools if i'm only certified and have a CELTA but no actual teaching experience?

Obviously, you have an advantage if you have qualified teacher status for high school. Most people here are TEFLers, and don't have QTS.

However, your lack of experience will count against you if you want to work at a sooper dooper school which pays 120,000-200,000b a month. Those jobs are like hens' teeth, and are taken by "superteachers" who may have MAs or may have held dept. head posts in the UK/US plus 10 plus years experience.

Keep in mind that all of the Intl Schools have to make money, and some have owners who require large returns.

As with anythg else, not all of the Intl Schools are a dream job. When TEFLwatchcom existed, some people wrote in to say "Avoid xxx Intl school". Some schools had, and have, a bad name. Make sure you get plenty of info, and ask opinions.

Of course, there are some home-grown private schools which are not Intl Schools as such. Assumption, a catholic college, pays much more than Thai schools (but not 100,000) and has 7 or 8 campuses. There have been mixed reviews over the years. Same as BCC (Bangkok Christian College). Posh place, high fees but not in the same league as the Harrow International School (which has higher fees and uses the name from the UK by agreement)>

You could try sending a CV around to get a response. What sometimes happens is LUCK. They need someone in your subject urgently, or someone likes yr face.
