I am a British National with 8 years experience as a senior ESL teacher and I have an MA in Applied Linguistics and TESOL but no CELTA.
Is this enough to meet the British Council's requirements for working in Malaysia?
Please answer - thanks so much. |

Just Google the BC website; all requirements are laid out there. |

If you have the teaching experience (at least 2 years) then it may well be, but it depends where exactly you want to work, the centre manager's personal preference and who you are up against. Easiest way to find out is to call them and ask - either call the London office, or the one you hope to work in. They are very helpful and open about their requirements.
Generally they will recognise qualifications as equivalent to the CELTA if they have involved a similar number of observed hours. |
