I understand folks concerns and disapointments with"an other test/evaluation/smoke screen... When I was at Harbin Eng. Univ program for IELTS, the chinese teachers/admin decided they could do the job better and cheaper and all the FT had to go. Of course the program was a failure. At some point someone in the Ed Ministry is going to look at the massive $$ going out with no improvement.
Between the chinese teachers/admin just making $$ off the whole thing and inept FT -what will they do?
I once taught adults on the side, who were oil company folks. The company sent them because even though they had paper saying they knew english-they had blown so many business deals because they really didn't know english the company had to retrain them.
At some point the chinese can't keep pouring $$$ down the drain with these programs. Oh course they would be better off having Foreign Experts help they with these evaluation formats as they ARE TERRIBLE!

On Chinese blogs its been reported how simple government websites - have been budgeted to have cost millions (people writing these blogs were in no doubt where the cash was going).
Makes you wonder on the differences between real price-tag and budget expenditure for the FT evaluation website Laughing Laughing Laughing

In the light of that kind of thinking - cynics would say that folk at the education ministry could be more focused on making their cut than working on real improvements.
But of course these rumor scoundrels will be harshly woken one day - as squads of eager and highly trained FT inspectors start marching through the educational establishments of China.

After reading your posts Roger - you look a perfect candidate - in fact, looking at the brilliant quality of your English - more than perfect. Make sure you hold out for a good wage when going for that job!!!!!!

I can appricate some bit of cynicalism toward me but no I am not the one for the job either. I am just pointing out that things are changing in China and that nothing would surprise me. Of course nowdays things can change at home quite fast also. If their hacking Goggle maybe they have hacked this site as well and are adding names to their enemy of the state list...
As for my English, well this site is not novel writing either.
