Anyone want to share a link to their favorite daily news sources?

I like www.drudgereport.com for headlines.

www.dr1.com is excellent for that neck of the woods (Dominican Republic).

http://www.gulf-news.com/ is one I just discovered today...it has a world section that has headlines for countries I rarely read about locally.

For home I use uk.yahoo.com and Spain es.yahoo.com. These are very good for local news and give good links to Reuters, Sky and whatnot.

I try reading the China Daily but it's more transparent than a jelly fish on heat! China news is a no no by the looks of things...

When overseas, I regularly log in to www.canada.com. It has links to daily newspapers all over Canada. I also like www.theglobeandmail.com

When in Canada, I visit www. japantimes.com and www.yementimes.com to keep up on news in places I have an interest in.

I don't watch TV either, which is why I read all my news on-line.

I do watch tv and I love it. After being at work for 8 hours every day there is nothing better than coming home and switching on the box and just chilling out for half an hour(with a beer) What do you guys do with no Eastenders or premiership football?

I can't get the BBC in Italy, but thankfully, I can see the Eastenders updates on the bbc website.

For news, I always read the guardian online. I think the website is www.guardian.co.uk

Last time I was in the UK, I was really appalled by the condescension of the BBC. Everything was explained by what looked like powerpoint slides, with bullet points. Where possible, a link to the UK was included. It really reminded me of John Craven's Newsround, a la:

"In Africa, tens of millions of people are starving to death. However, here in the UK, a giant turtle has been washed up on the coast of Cornwall. Let's look at some pictures..."

(Apologies to all who have no idea who John Craven is...)

The secret is to find a site without any local content. The last thing I want to read about is the latest blatherings of the malevolent dwarf attached to Dubya's buttocks (The Right Honourable Little Johnny Howard Rolling Eyes ).

Local news is as good a reason as any to become an ex-pat.

I just found this site today which allows you to download news programs. I watched last night's CBC Newsworld and while the picture was terrible and it took a while to download it was cool to see. Beyond being 'cool', I don't know how useful it will be but maybe some of you will be interested.

http://news.bbc.co.uk is my absolute fave, I like to listen to British news radio http://www.bbc.co.uk/5live my favourite papers in Britain are the Independent www.independent.co.uk and the Manchester Guardian (someone already linked to that).

And my local paper of old is pretty good the Manchester Evening News www.manchesteronline.co.uk

If I get nostalgic for where my family lives (and im currently staying anyway) then I read the geordie propeganda thats found at www.icnewcastle.co.uk
