Hi, has anyone any experiences-good or bad-of Megapolis in Moscow? I've been looking for information and asking around, but so far nothing. |

Obviously, they are quite an unknown quantity.
I've accepted some hours from them. first was to start tomorrow at 8am. It's been cancelled due to a last minute business trip.
I still don't know a great deal about them. Based at Pavletskaya. Teach in-company and at their site.
But their reputation remains unknown. I can't find anybody who has worked for them before. I know that names and locations are sometimes changed.
So, I thought I'd ask again, give the post a slight bump.
I hate late cancellations, especially when I would have got paid for tomorrow if I only heard then. |

Firms in Russia know they can do virtually what they like and cancelling lessons before the deadline they have stipulated is quite common.I also know nothing about this company but can assure you that things like this happen a lot there. This is why the 'old-hands' always warned me with any private students to insist they pay me for at least one(or preferably more if they will accept) lesson in advance so they are the loser if they cancel at the last minute or just fail to turn up,and not you! There is nothing worse than ending up with a wasted morning or afternoon because a couple of people have let you down, especially when you need the money.... |

Very true. I'm not really new, just new to this site. It does happen. That's why I mostly have private students. I can set the ground rules. Sometimes when things are a bit slow and I'm offered work then I will take it.
Usually I can find out about a firm. I suspect this firm is operating under a new name. Same old practices though. |

I was lucky and got out straight away. Several other teachers were not paid by this mob and they were pretty aggressive about it to.
They offer you work at one rate, then say the lesson has been 'rescheduled' (cancelled) and arrange lessons at a much lower rate. They do this to all their teachers regularly.
Recently they contacted me again as they are very short of teachers. Just say no! |
