Hi,
I am in the same situation. One thing that someone informed me of was that you want to go with the most reputable school.
I, too have gotten interviews from the three schools (haven't gone as of yet, but am just as excited) and as I prepare, I am also preparing for when I get to Japan. (Positive thinking the whole way).
Anyhow,
I was excited about PKC because of the intrigue of the recruiter and her willingness to change my interview date (she even offered to plan her next meeting around my schedule).
They also are all about kids, having fun, the safety of the children and the safety of the teachers (which I thought was great being a girl traveling to a WHOLE other country and after seeing the movie Taken).
PKC also offers housing, but they pay less than Amity (same as ECC) by 35,000. You also have to pay for housing, insurance, maintenance, flight costs, training costs (which is about 300).
So, if you want to save (and I did the costs for myself, everyone is different) Amity will allow you to save more.
With Amity, you pay for the same things (minus the training costs, but there is a 200USD fee to pay).
I have not been in phone-contact with any of the recruiters from Amity, but the same person gave good advice on the fact that recruiters are meant to be nice and gain clientele.
ECC- I wasn't that fond of due to the excessive traveling (but to each his own).
And AEON I didn't apply to because I'd rather play with the kiddies.
Another good thing about PKC is the work-load is not as rigorous as Amity or ECC or AEON.
When are your interviews?
I have Amity and PKC in March ECC as well.
Good luck with everything. |

HAHA! Sorry, with all the chaos that has been going on I completely forgot about Dave's ESL cafe.
Anyway, long story short. . . I have a job with PKC now, I'm leaving for Japan on the 5th, my training starts on the 10th, (in Nagoya), and my teaching placement is in Sakata City.
I'm pretty stoked now.
I definately want to kick my studying of the Japanese up a notch now. (up from Casual reading to trying to learn useful phrases, and even taking classes when I get to Japan.)
anyway thanks for all the tips and advice everyone! peace! |

I know that Aeon is still interviewing quite a bit, at least in the U.S. No idea how many people are actually hired though. I've gotten the impression from my recruiters that I am one of the few that was hired from my group interview. But apparently there are still jobs to be had! |
