Runthegauntlet, I noticed that in your points you often use a frame of reference saying "but in your home country" as a direct comparison. The fact is, Asia is not America, England, Aus, etc. Asia is a mostly corrupt, power-trip driven region which is apparently growing away from Democracy, equality, and rights. For you to say that the ridiculously high standards of N. America should be imposed on us foreigners over here is missing the point. Why impose so many hula-hoops to jump through when the locals aren't getting their own acts together? Also just to let you know, all of those "you're comical" statements towards other users aren't accomplishing anything. With your posts it appears you are devoted to defending your countries of interest at all costs, quite obviously.

Your points certainly aren't agreeable. Double standards do indeed exists in at least some of these countries of discussion. It is somewhat common for some local "academics" to pretty much buy their degrees or fake them altogether, who are exposed in the local media once every blue moon, but it's damn the foreigners and keep the spotlight on them.

Good points, porlestone.

For those like Runthe, who take a "grab your ankles" approach to submitting to their overlords, whether Korean, Chinese, Vietnamese, etc., all I can say is...good for you. Good for being either a troll or a lackey. You think I'm "comical"(if indicative of your refined sense of humour, then the Three Stooges must send you into spasms of laughter) for standing up for basic human rights? My response, as allowed by Dave's, is...keep grabbing your ankles.

"All of 11 posts...." Laughing Is that your criteria?! Laddy buck, I was ordering teaching materials when you were ordering ice cream. I've nine years in, in teaching EFL in E. Asia. You?

Massive chip on my shoulder? Don't know about the "massive" bit but yup, a chip there be. Why not, when crap is dumped on us by xenophobic authorities, bitter locals and those with tiny...ahem...well, see the above link.
