Hi. Well done.
I'd like to know from any experienced posters how an MA in TESOL sits in the whole teaching English field, like is it more desirable to have an MA over a DELTA, or about the same etc. etc. I'm trying to think ahead. |
You shouldn't compare an MA in TESOL or AL to DELTA. Apples and oranges. One of your electives in your MA might be something like DELTA, related to Ed. Management. |

| Hang on, did I understand this right? You are saying a DELTA is related to Ed. Management? |

Right. It's just that I'm confused as to what direction to take. I mainly hope to work (teaching) in Europe and Asia (and possibly Latin America) and it seems some people say an MA isn't necessary and I would be better doing a CELTA and then DELTA (when a 'career jump' is required). As i'm currently doing an MA part-time I'm wondering if it's worth all the money or whether I should jump ship (with a Postgrad Cert) and go down another route. |

| I dunno your whole picture, but I've got an MA TESL/TEFL and have worked in Europe for 12++ years now. It's been a useful qual. |

| Maybe by 'Asia' you mean SouthEast Asia (and possibly China, though I think that may be changing now), but if you are in Japan or Korea then an MA is common, and in Japan, at least, we're starting to see a PhD requested. |

Yep, the king of Spain himself has to sign it
Seriously, he does. Which is why it's taking so long. I should have it by June though. |

I'd like to thank everyone for their kind words about me completing my MA. We don't know each other but we share a love for teaching and that unites us all. It's not the best paid job in the world but you sure can't beat helping someone improve themselves.
Take care guys. |
