| How hard is it to do? As it is, I have virtually no Japanese (please, no bitching, I know), but would like to have my internet at home set up as soon as humanly possible after arrival. Are there a lot of ISP options in Japan? What is the best way of going about it? Which company would you recommend? What's the average cost? |
It's really easy. I have had many friends do it with 0 japanese knowledge.
There are options depending on where you live. Ask people you work with.
Head to a big electronic store near where you live and they'll probably have all the different options and tell you which you can get depending on your street address.
Once you've decided, you basically make an appointment for them to come and set it up, and that's about it |

| Your mileage may vary but, in my neighbourhood, the neighbours haven't got the message about locking down their WiFi yet.... |
