|

Hi,
I am thinking of applying for an online teaching position, TEFL.
I have a teaching degree (Ontario, Canada) with less than a year teaching, but no experience teaching TEFL.
The posting asks to include expected rate of pay per hour.
What would be reasonable without scaring them away, $15 or closer to $20 Canadian dollars?
Thanks for your time. |

Check out www.lancelotschool.com to get some qualifications... It is a training center designed to assist language teachers how to teach online effectively. It is accredited through ICC, which is an accrediting body in Europe.
Remember, we can all drive a car without a license, but we jump through the hoops and get a license to prove to the state/country that we can drive-- why do people think they can teach a language online or offline without training and proof that you can teach with quality?
BTW, to answer your question--rates are between $6-$80 depending on the persons' qualifications/experience. |

I'm tempted to answer one of these ads but they're considered crocks back in my home country (the U.S.) so I think the same would apply overseas, no? |

Really? There are a lot of people teaching live online. Can you clarify what you mean? Things have changed a lot since VOIP, skype and virtual classroom technology have come into play... |
