In a couple weeks, I'm moving from one side of Saitama to the other. I'm on an Instructor visa and have Kokumin Kenkou Houken. Could somebody please tell me what I'm expected to do? I guess change my registered address with the city office, is there anything else? Do I need to visit my old office at all before I go? Thanks! |

Just go to your new ward office and register your address (you might have to bring your lease or something to show them), then go to the insurance section and register with them. They'll send you a letter saying you have to come and bring your old insurance card and the letter to get your new one.
Keep making your kenko hoken payments as usual until your new ward office sends you the payment forms; it'll all get sorted out in the end. |

Hey
I would also visit your old post office and inform them of the move. When you complete your move, visit your new post office and update them as well. If you have any billing companies you should try to keep them also updated. Be careful when you go to your new city office that they dont try to sign you up for any unwanted insurance if you are not on the national plan and do not want it. Other than that talk to your company for any more tips. Good luck! |

Why wait? Your new residence may actually afford you lower payments!
You might also want to clear out expenses with the utilities companies. |
