Is there anywhere in Europe or the Middle East where one can find work, with a CELTA, a university diploma in English Language Studies (no degree yet), an EU passport, and a couple of years experience in TEFL?

In particular, I'd like to work in Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Spain or an Arabic-speaking country. At the end of the day though, I'm not too bothered really.

Hey stug, don't be stug in the mud. Seems to me you've got everything in gear to get moving, except the actual degree, so why not stick it out just a bit longer so you'll have everything you need to land a great job somewhere, wherever you want? Not sure how much longer you'd have to go, or what your overall situation might be (my apologies), but I just think someone like you can go a long way and have a great time - if you have that English degree signed, sealed, delivered and in hand before you set off.

Best of luck,

I am surprised by some of the posts regarding China.

First of all, you do not need a degree to work in China, nor even a z visa.
Perhaps this is an issue in the more international cities like Beijing, Shanghai (never lived/worked there), but not in China's 2nd cities (Xi'an, Chengdu etc.).

Secondly, and I am not saying that you should do this, but forging a bw fax or photocopy of a degree is commonplace, and I have never heard of any FTs getting in trouble for it.

3rdly, I have only been asked for my degree twice, and i have worked many many jobs in China and been here for awhile.

The first time I couldn't get a access to it, and they accepted a copy of my tefl certificate. The 2nd time, I didnt want my family to mail it to me, so I had a relative back home scan it into a jpeg, email it to me, and the printout looked looked terrible on my crappy bw printer, I mean it looked like nothing basically, and it was accepted no problem.

So I agree with the posters who say China.
