The interviewer (who came across as honest and trustworthy)
Lol...this reminds me of Korean recruiters. When you are making money for them (or potentially a money maker ) ,they will (appear to) be the nicest people in the world.
SURELY ..after reading several threads on this website you know to apply for direct hire in Saudi ?
Or are you so desperate to get out of Warsaw ? All teachers need to tell these recruiters to go $%%% it, or ask for at least $ 4000 + a month. Plus all the other necessary benefits (like decent housing).
Simple enuff advice methinks. |

On this board, many comments about the organisation in question are reasonably positive (a rare thing!), and I like to think I've got a pretty good BS filter.
As for direct hire, I agree with you. But with no Middle East experience and a BA (not in English) CELTA & 10 years experience, rather than a Masters', my choices are somewhat limited compared to those of many people who are in Saudi. I've applied direct to a few places with no response (yet), and wonder if they will indeed get back to me at all...
To be honest, I'd like to try a short contract in Libya first (and friends now in KSA who did this recommend it), but nobody seems to be recruiting for those at the moment.

In a way yes. The chance to go in May rather than mid-late Sept would suit me wonderfully and resolve a few issues like going into the next tax bracket (a cruel thing in Poland), finding somewhere to live (I need to move before the end of June) and what to do (and where to be) over the summer when a lot of my freelance work will dry up.
I also have some interesting offers here in Poland and wouldn't want to commit myself to something new then subsequently let the employer down after a couple of months by disappearing off to the UK to arrange visas etc.
Also after 10 years here, I feel a change is due and in fact probably very overdue.

The deal is 10400 SAR, OK-ish holidays, reasonable sounding accommodation, transport to work, a reasonable workload teaching in-company (which I'm very used to - a college/university would be new to me), plus 3600 available overtime. Posts here suggest they keep their promises. |

If you are still talking about Education Experts then there are a couple things you need to know. First, unless things have changed since last fall; you were interviewed by a recruiter, not by EdEx directly. Second, I believe that the recruiter in my case was honest and above board; but they did not know EdEx was a den of lying (underfunded) thieves. Third, if you are only to make SAR 10,400 then you are being paid SAR 1600 less than those hired last fall.
I have heard that EdEx has changed ownership and management since January & I would like to hear from anyone in-the-know about this.
The accommodations for me & my co-workers was 2 different hotels with less than desirable internet access and limited TV service. |

I'm not. A different company - a private language institute. It's ended up on this thread because there was a discussion about visa types and Iqamas. |

Dear scot47,
And that was back when the dinosaurs, which had not yet become the oil deposits of today, were still roaming the Kingdom.
Regards,
