I am looking to teach at a University in one of these cities next fall. I have two years experience in China near Shanghai. I need a change of weather, etc. Is there anyone out there who is living and teaching in either of these cities and can tell me about both the job and the city? I appreciate all good and bad about them. Thanks! |

Xiamen is rather expensive. Hope you plan on doing lots of private lessons because you'll be feeling rather poor there on a typical university salary. Lots of rich expats and Chinese there. Nice weather, very attractive women. Pollution is fairly low for China, but not as low as some people would have you believe. There's definitely still noticeable smog some days. Good foreign scene, if you're into that. |
