BUT... I just found this on the website that is on that ad above:
E-mail fraud schemes are currently circulating on the Internet where fraudsters use Saudi Aramco's name (often in connection with noteworthy events) to solicit job applications or contract proposals, and require the victims to pay job-application or other processing fees. Sometimes, the scams take the form of telephone calls rather than e-mails. Certain versions of this scam are very sophisticated. Occasionally, a scammer will send a fake check for a large amount of money to the victim to cover the "processing fees." The scammer hopes the victim pays the fees before discovering that the check is fraudulent. If you do receive an unsolicited e-mail offering you a job at Saudi Aramco or inviting you to bid for a contract -- sometimes involving extremely large amounts of money -- this is invariably a scam. Do not send any money.
This warning is issued to the general public as a public service. Saudi Aramco, its subsidiary companies, and their agents will not be liable for any losses incurred as a result of these unauthorized activities.
We recommend that you ignore all such unsolicited e-mails and telephone calls. If you wish to apply for a job with Saudi Aramco, please visit the companys official Jobs & Careers site
This suggests to me that they do NOT make unsolicited email job offers nor go through some website like MONSTER to find their employees.
Nor can I find anything on the site suggesting that one apply to a @aramco.com email address with some form that they send you. All applications are done on the website directly using their system. There is no mention of any education jobs. If this was a legitimate ad it would tell you to use the proper website system.
I am now completely convinced that this is a scam. Sorry TTkira...

I left Hail university during the Hajj Holiday in Dec.2010 ( before 3 months ) and didnot go back,I hit the wall and no room for patience!
A recruiter called ( Al-Zahrani ) contacted me last month about the Aramco interview that will be conducted in London between 8-12/04.
If I signed the contract with him, what about Hail and my Iqama?
Is there any problem with the new job of Aramco? conflict with it? What about the idea of changing my passport and get new one, but my finger prints were taken in SA before I started my job in Hail last year! any information please? I need this job now. |

Hashim... your last posts are unreadable... it is impossible to know what is your post and what is a quote of someone else and what the quotes have to do with your question... whatever your question is. |

Greetings all,
I think I can hopefully shed some light on Aramco for all concerned. I know there are a couple of teachers on here who we placed last year and are currently out in Saudi working for Aramco through Al Falak which is the Supplier we work through and again there were posts on here last week from one of our teachers who is currently out there and helpfully shedding some much needed light on the reality.
Firstly that email which you all claim to be a scam was written by one of my consultants Jon who I can assure you is a real person and the figure quoted of 14kUS a month is at the top end of the scale. This is total remuneration so it consists of Salary + 65% of salary as living expenses.
Now in reality the highest offers I witnessed and indeed renegotiated last year with Aramco in person in London came in at $13.2K US a month (total monthly remuneration).
In terms of the whether or not they hire the fairer of the species they have for the last two years specified to me at least they do not - whether they hire directly I could not comment it is certainly not out of the realms of possibility.
In terms of job title 50% of the teachers last year on their offer letter stated ITC Teacher I think it depends on where and who and on what grade you are teaching.
Also there seems to be a perception that Americans are paid more - I had two americans offered roles last year and to again in my limited experience they were offered exactly the same as the Brits indeed the two highest offers were both to Brits (13.2K US and 12.4K US a month).
Lastly in terms of the currency discussion going on again in my limited experience and if my memory serves me correctly all of the 10 offers i witnessed in person last year were all made in US dollars however they do ask what currency you want to be paid in...
Hopefully one of the teachers who we placed out there last year can fill in the blanks on here.
Ironically enough both the teachers who were offered the top dollar turned it down - but can I make it absolutely clear that that email Jon sent was to a candidate who applied to a role on Tefl.com either in June last year or Jan/Feb this year either for a role in Libya or Saudi.
Any further queries i will do my best to answer based on my limited but real experience with recruiting for Aramco. |

So, Tom, what is the criteria used by Aramco for a salary of $13+ k /m ?
- Specialism?
- Qualification?
- Years of experience?
- Colour of passport?
- Eyes' colour?
- etc? |

This is consistent with what the ARAMCO office in the US has been saying since my first contact with them back in the mid-80s. They said straight out that for the tiny number of female teachers that they need, there are plenty of spouses available already living in the compound who can do the classes.

007 the specifications for the individual with a 13k offer with Aramco last year were:
BA English from Oxford
Delta
MA Applied Linguistics
Former Army Officer
46 y/o
11 years experience 4 of which in the kingdom with BAE and an offer on him from another firm for a 2week on 2week off rotation for 3 months Paying 800 a day with free flights accomodation etc etc
So there you have it - he landed up taking the short term contract....
Tom.
As an aside he had brown eyes if my memory serves me correctly... |

Tom, thanks for the information.
Don't waste your replies on 007--he is a self-described "mathemetician" who has stuck his beak in here for years and been kicked off these threads three or four times over the years, and even has made condescending suggestions on how we should give EFL exams. He frequently makes racial references about "blue eyes and blond hair" and is therefore best avoided. |

Having just been at the annual Aramco all-ITC pow-wow this very morning, where absolutely everyone even remotely involved in any aspect of training was in attendance, I can only say that there were about 35 women present...and about 750 men. I asked what the women actually do in Aramco and was told that they work in mixed-sex office environments doing mainly clerical jobs. Any training opportunities will therefore be related to that, in a women-only section of Dhahran ITC. All the women's names I heard during the prize-giving were Arab, bar one, which sounded something like Nagamichi. |

Thanks cuff... great to finally have a reply from someone who is a 'real life' witness. It sounds like the situation is the same... if they need to give these women some English classes, they can local hire a spouse.
Too bad for us...

Can someone tell me why we have 3 concurrent threads on Aramco ?
Let us not forget that Aramco may have provided lots of lucrative work for EFL teachers years ago, but those halcyon days are over. |

Dear scot47,
Ah, but the lure of The Big Rock Candy Mountain can never be dispelled (though I suppose it could be misspelled.)
Even today, here in New Mexico, there are still those who search for El Dorado and for The Seven Lost Cities of Cibola.
Regards,
John |
