Based on my experience and what I have seen, it really depends. Every country has a distribution and stratification of jobs that require different qualification and experience for different pay (high and low).

I think this question is a bit to general. Just like any other field, the people with a lot of experience and good qualifications do better than those that don't.

Let's cut to the chase here, where's the best place to go to earn money in the middle east? Including taking into consideration how easy it is to save and the cost of living as well as the actual earnings. I heard Saudi was worth it. I heard reports they will pay for your accomodation and some living expenses so you could save any money you made there. Is this right?

Didn't make it to TESOLArabia, but I've been offered a start at a place in Riyadh for this August, which looks promising.

I assume that you have checked the place out over on the Saudi board to make sure that the pay is worth the aggravation. Laughing

I have a pretty good idea I think. I've been in touch with a current employee who's warned me. Frankly, there's aggravation everywhere. It's a question of the money and how reliable that end of things is. Once those are taken care of, I can tolerate the grief which is the same (more or less) as it is anywhere.

Hey robitusson,

I just wanted to say: I've been using different forums for different subjects for about 10 years and I have never seen anything quite so remarkable as when you asked for advice about qualifications, and then coolly replied "ok got them" 4 years later!!!

I just about fell off my chair, absolutely awesome!!!
